Scroll through to see Marixa Andrade’s maternity photo shoot in Memorial Houston. She’s 32 weeks and expecting a baby boy, Joaquin Guillermo. This will be her first child and he is expected to arrive on November 27, 2018. Congratulations, Marixa!
Marixa is a local Houston photographer who found us through our city’s local TuesdaysTogether Chapter. We were honored that a fellow photographer trusted us with her maternity photos and let us follow our vision. Marixa’s maternity session was true to our philosophy of portraying our client’s in the most organic, bright, airy, and joyful way that we know how. So, of course, we just had to include a flower crown with Marixa’s gorgeous pastel yellow dress at a location full of luscious greens! It was a perfect fusion of our style with her bohemian and nature-oriented style.
Marixa knew early on in the session’s planning process that she wanted her photos to be held outdoors and serve as memories of her baby bump. She chose to not bring any props or incorporate any activities. She said that if she had, she would have held her session at home.
Marixa: I had a lot of fun, felt comfortable and beautiful.
Tell us about your outfit.
Marixa: I only wore one dress because as your bump gets bigger, it’s just harder to be changing into other outfits. In my case, since my son will be born in the fall, I went with the yellow color, which resembles the nature around us during this time.
Marixa: Make sure if you are ordering your maternity gown online, to order ahead of time. Do not hesitate to hire a professional to do your make up and just let the photographer pose you while you relax.
What is something sweet that your husband has done for you during the pregnancy?
Marixa: He helped with the nursery, despite the fact he was a little stressed about finances and all the work involved. He also participated in buying clothes for our baby, which I know some dads do not like all the shopping involved, but I think it added to bonding with our unborn son.
What have been your favorite things to do while pregnant? Have you had any pregnancy cravings?
Marixa: I have walked and that has cleared out my mind a lot when it gets overwhelming and I recently started doing prenatal yoga for the same reason, to calm my mind and to help me with sciatica pain. Reading and attending classes addressing what concerns you also calms your nerves down and makes you feel more prepared for what’s coming. I cannot say I have had cravings, but more like episodes of times in which I feel comfortable eating the same foods, early pregnancy was fruit, then it changed to spicy food, now it’s spaghetti, but I don’t know if those are considered cravings.
